Masa Durga Ashtami

Masa Durga Ashtami falls on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the lunar fortnight each month and is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is a monthly observance for devotees of Shakti (the Divine Mother). Fasting, prayers, and recitation of Devi Stotras are performed. The annual Durga Ashtami during Navaratri is the most celebrated, but the monthly observance is equally auspicious for Devi devotees.
