Sankatahara Chaturthi

Sankatahara Chaturthi (also called Sankashti Chaturthi) falls on the fourth day of the waning (Krishna) fortnight each month. Devotees observe a day-long fast dedicated to Lord Ganesha and break it after moonrise. It is believed to remove all obstacles and grant wishes. The Chaturthi in the month of Magha (January–February) is especially significant and is called Sakat Chauth.
