The annual Gayatri Japam date, for your city
Gayatri Japam is the annual repetition of the Gayatri Mantra, traditionally performed on Shravana Krishna Paksha Prathama -- the day after Shravana Purnima. It is observed by households of all four Vedas -- Rig, Yajur, Sama, and Atharva -- on the same day, even though each Veda's own Upakarma (sacred-thread renewal) day is decided by its own separate rules.
In a rare case, when Purnima's transition to Prathama falls within a narrow window on Shravana Purnima day itself, Gayatri Japam is performed on the same day as Upakarma, before Upakarma rather than the day after -- this page reflects that exception automatically when it applies.
Like most panchang determinations, this has been interpreted somewhat differently across sampradayas and regional traditions -- please follow the convention observed by your own family or tradition where it differs from what is shown here.
