Pradosham falls on the 13th day (Trayodashi) of both the waxing and waning fortnights — twice a month. It is a sacred time dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Pradosha Vrata is observed during the twilight hours (1.5 hours before and after sunset). Shani Pradosham (Saturday Pradosham) and Soma Pradosham (Monday Pradosham) are considered especially auspicious.
